It’s a boy! Congratulations to Dan+Shay’s Shay Mooney and Hannah Billingsley on the arrival of their first child.
The couple gave birth to Asher James Mooney today (Jan. 24) and took to Instagram to share the news with friends and fans.
“It’s hard to describe the love you feel for the first time when you hold your child,” Shay wrote in his post. “I will never be the same. Asher James, I promise to be the father you deserve. And Hannah, I promise to be the husband you want and need. I love you both so much. You’ve given me everything I never knew I needed. Welcome to the world Asher James Mooney. 1/24/2017”
NCD offers our congratulations to the happy couple!
Joining Luke on the duration of the tour will be Brett Eldredge, while Lauren Alaina, Craig Campbell, Adam Craig, Seth Ennis and Granger Smith will support Luke on various stops.
Luke made the announcement in a Nintendo-inspired post on YouTube, which you can watch below.

If you’ve been counting, it’s been four years since Trace Adkins released his last studio album, Love Will. The “You’re Gonna Miss This” singer is back at it with a brand new album, Something’s Going On, due to drop on March 31.
Trace, who has sold over 11 million albums to date, also has something going on with “Watered Down,” the first single off the new record. While you may have to wait until March 13 to hear the single on the radio, you can listen to it here at NashCountryDaily.com and check out the lyric video.
“When I first heard ‘Watered Down’ I felt an immediate connection with what I wanted to say. A man comes to a point in his life where he begins to reflect on his past and what he’s learned and that’s what fueled this song,” Trace said in a statement. “If you’ve led the kind of life I’ve led, at some point you have to temper your vices.”
The new album, produced by Mickey Jack Cones (Joe Nichols, Dustin Lynch) contains songs written by some of Nashville’s finest songwriters, including Shane McAnally, Casey Beathard, Tyler Farr and Craig Campbell.
Something’s Going On Track Listing with Songwriters
“Ain’t Just The Whiskey Talkin’” (Terry McBride, Brett Beavers)
“Jesus And Jones” (Tyler Farr, Jim McCormick, Casey Beathard)
“Something’s Going On” (Chris Cavanaugh, Mark Stephen Jones)
“If Only You Were Lonely” (Jon Coleman, Troy Johnson)
“Gonna Make You Miss Me” (Tommy Lee James, Matt Nolan, Andrew Dorff)
“I’m Gone” (Craig Campbell, Max T. Barnes)
“Country Boy Problems” (Tommy Lee James, Josh Osborne)
“Lit” (Mickey Jack Cones, Monty Criswell, Derek George)
“Still A Soldier” (Phil O’Donnell, Wade Kirby)
“Whippoorwills And Freight Trains” (Phil O’Donnell, Jeff Middleton, Brandon Kinney)
“Hang” (Lynn Hutton, Phil O’Donnell)
And that’s not all. Trace will not only release a new album and new single, he will be going on tour in support of the album. The tour kicks off on Feb. 4 at Universal Studios in Orlando Fla., with stops in New York, Baltimore and Canton, Ohio. With each ticket purchase, Trace is giving away a copy of Something’s Going On. You can check out Trace’s website for more details. Don’t miss your chance to catch the 6’6 baritone out on the road.

There may have been rain in the forecast for New York this morning (Jan. 24), but Michael Ray brought the sunshine with him when he performed his current single, “Think A Little Less” on the Today Show.
Michael flashed his pearly white grin toward hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, as they asked Michael about his first headlining tour.
“[Headlining a tour] feels awesome, it’s definitely a little bit of change,” Michael told the hosts. “Last year we toured with Brantley Gilbert and then Darius Rucker—Dan+ Shay was on the tour with us. I got to learn from two of the best. The year before was Sam Hunt and Kip Moore and so the last two years we’ve been able to learn from some of the best. We’re just excited to bring it on our own.”
Michael’s Think A Little Less Tour ran from Oct. 2016 through Nov. 2016 and picked up again on Jan. 20 in Harrisburg, Pa.—running through Feb. 18. “Think A Little Less”, from Michael’s self-titled debut album, is running straight up the charts, currently sitting at No. 10 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
Check out Michael’s smoldering performance on the Today Show.
Ellen DeGeneres’ Oops! My Water Broke may be a game that takes no skill, but that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable.
Today (Jan. 24), Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley stopped by Ellen to perform their new single, “You Look Good,” but the hostess also roped the trio into playing the fun-filled game that drops water-filled balloons on a willing contestant—in this case, Charles.
Drake White, known for songs such as “Livin’ The Dream” and “Makin’ Me Look Good Again,” has announced his 2017 Spark Tour—his first-ever headlining tour.
“I can’t wait to get back out on the road!” Drake said in a statement. “My band and I love connecting with the fans night after night but getting the chance to headline our first tour takes it to a whole new level of special.”
The Spark Tour kicks off on Feb. 4 in Bangor, Maine with stops in New York, Tampa and San Diego. Shows in New York, Boston and one of two shows in Nashville, are already sold out.

We can’t figure out what it is with country stars and creepy crawly things, but they make for good videos on Instagram. The “Running for You” singer posted two videos of his encounter with a tarantula, taking the opportunity to begin conversations with the giant arachnid.
“Hey there, Mr. Spider,” Kip says in the conversation with the spider. “Hey, look dude, you gotta stay out of my pillowcase. Last night I almost smashed you cause you freaked me out so damn bad in the middle of the night. You gotta steer clear of that”
Check out the videos to see what the spider has to say.
Tucker Beathard is celebrating his 22nd birthday today (Jan. 24) with the release of his new video for “Momma and Jesus,” a Jackass-inspired clip full of Tucker and his buddies undertaking Johnny Knoxville-like shenanigans that include mini-bikes, shopping carts, naked blow-up dolls, paintball, cross-dressing, nudity and more.
“Anyone who knows me, knows that’s a part of who I am—the daredevil side,” says Tucker to Nash Country Daily. “I can be quiet and introverted, but at the same time I’ve always loved not acting my age and doing stupid stunts and making stupid videos. ‘Momma and Jesus’ gave us a great excuse to go out and do that in the video. It’s an out-there-kind-of-video, so 50 percent of people will think it’s great because it’s so different and 50 percent will absolutely hate it. It’s different. That’s all I care about. You’ve got to stand out somehow.”
So far, Tucker’s music has been standing out. After his debut single, “Rock On,” climbed to No. 2 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart in October 2016, Tucker embarked on his own headlining Rock On College Tour with Aubrie Sellers. He made his Grand Ole Opry debut on Jan. 14, and as “Momma and Jesus” makes its way up the chart—currently at No. 55—Tucker will join Brantley Gilbert’s Devil Don’t Sleep Tour for a string of dates beginning on Feb. 2.
“My headlining tour was an awesome experience because I got to see what works and what doesn’t, what songs fans respond to,” says Tucker. “Playing a full 90-minute show definitely helps you hone your craft in a lot of different aspects, especially keeping the crowd involved. That was great preparation for bigger tours, like going out with Brantley. I can cram all the positives from those shows into his tour.”
Through a partnership with the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Yep Roc Records, Dolly Parton’s first single, “Puppy Love”—recorded when she was 13 years old—will be re-mastered from the original mono master tape and available for sale as a 45-RPM with a B-side of “Girl Left Alone” on April 22. Subsequent releases will be available on compact disc, vinyl and from digital providers.
“Like a first love, a first record for a singer will always be remembered above all others,” said Dolly in a statement. “Hopefully I’ve improved since I recorded ‘Puppy Love,’ so don’t laugh . . . just enjoy.”
Dolly wrote “Puppy Love” at age 11 with her Uncle Bill Owens. She recorded the tune in 1959 when she was just 13, after taking a 30-hour bus ride with her grandmother, Rena Owens, to Goldband Records studio in Lake Charles, La.
Packaging of the new tune will include reproductions of the original Goldband record labels, housed in a picture sleeve featuring an early promotional photograph of Dolly.
Check out Dolly’s “Puppy Love” below via Spotify, which is not the re-mastered version available on April 22.
After wetting his feet on the morning and daytime television circuit in December with appearances on Today and Ellen, Kane Brown made his late-night television debut last night (Jan. 23) on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
The 23-year-old Georgia native performed “Thunder in the Rain,” a tune from his self-title debut album that he co-penned with Josh Hoge and Matthew McVaney.
