Josh Abbott Band made a West Coast trek to Burbank, Calif., last night (Jan. 18) to perform their single, “Amnesia,” on Conan.

The tune, which was written by Josh, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, delves into the topic of trying to forget a love gone wrong, and it is featured on JAB’s 2015 album, Front Row Seat.

Luke Bryan Added as Headliner to Alabama’s Rock the South Festival

Most of the country may still be hunkering down through the cold-weather months, but there is no reason we can’t dive headfirst into the upcoming festival season with the announcement that Luke Bryan will headline the 2017 Pepsi Rock the South Festival on June 2-3 in Cullman, Ala.

Luke will be making his first-ever appearance at the festival and will join headliner Sam Hunt. Known as “The Biggest Party in the South,” the festival boasts a star-studded lineup with acts such as Brett Eldredge, Dustin Lynch, Maren Morris and Chris Janson.

“Over the past six years, Rock the South has become synonymous with ‘ultimate fan experience,’ and this year we sought to once again bring a great mix of stadium entertainment and breakout stars to the Cullman area, while offering affordable ticket prices. Last year’s festival hosted more than 25,000 fans a day with great acts like Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown, and this year we are thrilled to bring two of the largest acts in country, superstars Luke Bryan and Sam Hunt,” said Nathan Baugh, co-founder of Rock the South.

Past performers of the festival have included Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Little Big Town, Thomas Rhett, Alan Jackson, Tyler Farr, Travis Tritt, Kelsea Ballerini and many more.

Tickets for the Rock the South, which originally began in 2012 as a one-time benefit for those devastated by a series of tornadoes that hit the Cullman area, go on sale starting January 23. To purchase tickets, check out Rock The South’s website.

After their Wheels Up Tour capped in late 2015, Lady Antebellum, as a whole, took a hiatus. But the trio’s individual members—Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood—weren’t resting on their laurels. Each member tackled individual projects, including Charles’ solo album, The Driver, Hillary’s faith-based album, Love Remains, and Dave’s gigs as a producer for other artists such as Post Monroe’s self-titled EP.

Now, the hiatus is over. Today (June. 19) Lady A announced a return to the airwaves with a new single, “You Look Good,” which drops today. The horn-happy track was produced by busbee, and you can check out the lyric video below.

“We’ve always loved experimenting with different instruments and sounds in the studio, but we’ve never used horns before,” said Dave. “The energy they brought to this song is really fun and was validation for all three of us that it had to be our first single back.”

“There’s also something contagious about the chorus that will be perfect in our live shows this year,” said Charles. “We knew after the time off that we wanted to get back out on the road in a big way. We couldn’t be more ready to get back out there with the fans and hopefully make a few new ones too.”

The trio also announced that their new album, Heart Break, will be released on June 9. Fans can get a taste of what the album has to offer tonight (Jan. 19) as Lady A hosts a Facebook Live event.

“We knew right away that we had to name this album after a track that is a play on the word ‘heartbreak,’” said Hillary. ”It’s all about those personal growths everyone goes through and it was liberating to get back in the studio with Charles and Dave to intertwine those feelings into the recording process. I feel like we’ve reemerged stronger than ever and I can’t wait to share more music!”

The group will kick off a new 65-plus-date You Look Good World Tour on May 26 in Bakersfield, Calif., and visit Phoenix, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto, Dallas, Atlanta and Nashville, among others. The tour will also make stops in Europe and South Africa. Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young will serve as the tour’s opening acts.

Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood and Little Big Town took home trophies at the People’s Choice Awards last night (Jan. 18).

Blake became the first country artist ever to win the People’s Choice Award in the all-genre Favorite Album category, where his 2016 album, If I’m Honest, knocked off Rihanna’s Anti, Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman, Beyoncé’s Lemonade and Drake’s Views. Blake also won his second consecutive award for Favorite Male Country Artist, besting Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt and Tim McGraw. In the all-genre Favorite Male Artist category, Blake was topped by Justin Timberlake.

“It’s so cool to be recognized by the people who are spending the money and taking time out of their day to vote,” Blake said. “I could not be more thankful. All I’ve ever wanted to do is sing country music, so to win Favorite Male Country Artist is incredible. And to be the first country artist to ever win Favorite Album is beyond words. I’m so proud of If I’m Honest and to know that it’s resonating with fans is why I make music.”

Carrie Underwood copped the award for Favorite Female Country Artist by besting Dolly Parton, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire, while Little Big Town earned the trophy for Favorite Country Group over The Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line, Lonestar and Zac Brown Band.

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay are known for showing off their playful personalities in videos like “19 You + Me” and “Nothin’ Like You,” but in their new video for “How Not To,” the duo gets serious.

The video starts off in an alcoholics recovery meeting with attendees sharing their stories, as a love connection between a guy and girl begins. In a look back at the couples’ lives before getting help for alcoholism, we see them go through their struggles, drinking away their problems and suffering the consequences.

But I don’t know how not to think about you / When it’s late at night and crying / And I know that I ought to be the one who is strong and just moves on / But I probably turn down your road, knock-knock on your door / Fall back in your arms, wake up in the morning / Hating myself for the way that I can’t help the way I still want you / I just don’t know how not to, how not to, how not to  / I just don’t know how not to, how not to, how not to,” Shay belts out in the chorus.

Flash forward one year later and the happy couple is celebrating their one-year anniversary of sobriety at a party with friends Dan and Shay.

“You know I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you, right,” says the boyfriend to his girlfriend.

“We wouldn’t be here without each other,” she responds.

Rising artist Mike Ryan is making his way up the Texas country chart with his new single, “New Hometown,” which is currently No. 14 on the Texas Regional Radio Report.

Growing up in San Antonio, Mike was exposed to music by his grandfather, who directed the Texas National Guard Band for more than 30 years. After singing in the church choir and tinkering with the saxophone and piano, Mike picked up the guitar while at the University of North Texas and started playing open-mic nights. Now he is playing more than 150 shows a year, including headlining revered venues like Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth and Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa.

Mike stopped by the Nash Country Daily studio this morning (Jan. 18) for a visit and to perform a few songs from his upcoming album, including “New Hometown.”

Ronnie Milsap may have turned 74 years old on January 16, but that doesn’t mean he is slowing down—in fact, the Country Music Hall of Famer has a new tribute album in the works.

The collaborative album features Ronnie teaming with some of country’s top talent to sing tunes from his vast catalog, which includes 35 No. 1 hits over his 40-plus-year career.

Thanks to NASH morning show personality Kelly Ford, Nash Country Daily got a sneak peek inside the recording studio as Ronnie and Kacey Musgraves tackle Ronnie’s 1989 No. 1 hit, “Don’t You Ever Get Tired (Of Hurting Me),” which was written by Hank Cochran, who, incidentally, was elected to the Hall of Fame with Ronnie in 2014.

The list of artists who are participating on Ronnie’s new album is pretty incredible and includes other Hall of Famers as well as some of today’s biggest stars, but we can’t spill the beans just yet.

Blake Shelton Scores 23rd Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 With “A Guy With a Girl”

Carrie Underwood may be queen of the Mediabase chart this week with “Dirty Laundry,” but Blake Shelton rules the roost on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with his 23rd No. 1, “A Guy With a Girl.”

The tune, which was written by Ashley Gorley and Bryan Simpson, is the second single from Blake’s album, If I’m Honest, to climb to No. 1, following previous chart-topper “Came Here to Forget.”

“I’ve been in this business long enough to know that a number-one single should be celebrated and never taken for granted,” Blake said. “I’m just as excited about ‘Guy With a Girl’ going No. 1 as I was ‘Austin.’ The first thing I did when I found out today was call my mom, just like I did with my first and every No. 1. So, as always, thanks to country radio and especially the fans for this.”

Since the inception of the Country Airplay chart in 1990, Blake ranks fifth all-time with 23 No. 1s, following George Strait (26), Alan Jackson (26), Kenny Chesney (27) and Tim McGraw (29).

Blake will perform “Every Time I Hear That Song” tonight (Jan. 18) at the People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles, where he is nominated for Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Album.
