Jason Aldean’s Concert for the Cure Helps Raise More Than $3.3 Million to Fight Breast Cancer as the Opry Goes Pink

Jason Aldean’s 11th annual Concert for the Cure returned to Nashville as part of the Grand Ole Opry’s eight annual Opry Goes Pink showcase last night (Oct. 25). Jason  flipped the switch on the Opry’s signature barn backdrop, turning it pink for the Opry’s two shows, which included performances from Jason, Hillary Scott & the Scott Family, Montgomery Gentry, Chris Young, Cassadee Pope, Jeannie Seely and Mickey Guyton.

Jason presented a check to the Susan G. Komen Foundation from more than $450,000 raised on his 2016 Six String Circus Tour throughout the year, with this year’s contribution taking the grand total to more than $3.3 million for the fight against breast cancer. Jason has been an avid supporter toward the fight against breast cancer since losing a dear friend to the disease in 2004.

“It was a pretty full-circle moment for me to be able to bring this show back to Nashville where it got started as we go over the $3 million mark,” said Jason. “I could see a lot of family and friends out in the audience this year, which is a big reminder that we still have to keep fighting this disease.”

The evening kicked off with Montgomery Gentry cutting a pink ribbon and leading a pink carpet walk into the Grand Ole Opry House for the show. Breast cancer survivors and members of their support networks were followed by fans on the carpet, all pledging to support the fight against the disease.

Kenny Chesney to Receive Third-Ever Pinnacle Award at 50th Annual CMA Awards

Kenny Chesney to Receive Third-Ever Pinnacle Award at 50th Annual CMA Awards

Kenny Chesney will follow in the hallowed footsteps of Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift when he is presented with the third-ever Pinnacle Award at the 50th annual CMA Awards on Nov. 2.

Created and awarded to Garth in 2005 and then Taylor in 2013, the Pinnacle Award recognizes an artist who has achieved global prominence through concert performances and record sales at levels unique in country music. The artist has also attained the highest degree of recognition within the broad expanse of music worldwide. The artist’s talent and presence will have a long-term positive impact on the appreciation of country music for generations to come.

“When you do what you do, you never think it’s a big deal,” said Kenny. “But when an organization like CMA recognizes you in this fashion, it makes you step back. To receive this award—especially during their 50th anniversary—is such an honor, because they’re recognizing half a century of country music.”

Kenny has 43 career CMA Awards nominations and eight wins, including four for Entertainer of the Year.

The 50th annual CMA Awards will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Watch Scotty McCreery Cover Jamey Johnson’s “In Color” for “Forever Country Cover Series”

Watch Scotty McCreery Cover Jamey Johnson’s “In Color” for “Forever Country Cover Series”

In celebration of the 50th annual CMA Awards, Scotty McCreery took part in the Forever Country Cover Series by singing Jamey Johnson’s “In Color,” a tune that won the 2009 CMA Song of the Year award.

Scotty first performed “In Color” in 2009 when he won his very first musical competition, Clayton Idol, in Clayton, N.C. A couple of years later in 2011, Scotty won the 10th season of American Idol.

Check out the performance below.

Chase Bryant Turns Up the Heat in “Room to Breathe” Video

Chase Bryant Turns Up the Heat in “Room to Breathe” Video

It may be Chase Bryant’s first acting role, but the “Take It On Back” singer has us believing that he’s as suave and debonair as the character he plays in his new video for “Room to Breathe.”

In a James Bond-like role, Chase struts his stuff as a dashing playboy who seems to have a little bit of girl trouble on his hands. Looking dapper in a fitted white tuxedo jacket, Chase finds himself living the high life when he runs into a jealous ex-girlfriend. That’s when the action kicks in and the chase (no pun intended) begins.

chase-bryant-room-to-breathe-videoThe video, directed by Jeff Johnson, has everything a good James Bond movie requires—a pretty girl, a poker game, sexy car and, of course, martinis. No word on weather or not they were shaken or stirred.

A self-admitted James Bond junkie, Chase and Jeff co-wrote and created the concept after a late-night Bond movie marathon while out on tour.

“Anyone that knows me knows that I am obsessed with James Bond movies,” said Chase in a statement.  “I was on the bus one night watching Casino Royale and I thought, ‘How cool would it be to recreate the style of this movie and the attitude of James Bond into a music video?’ ‘Room To Breathe’ is a seductive sort of song about never wanting to leave a girl. I wanted to do something different and push the limits with this music video.”

Chase also got a little help from his friend, Lee Brice. Keep an eye out during the poker scenes for a cameo from the “I Don’t Dance” singer. If you blink, you’ll miss him.

Jana Kramer Gets Funky on “Dancing With the Stars”

Jana Kramer Gets Funky on “Dancing With the Stars”

Coming off of last week’s perfect score, Jana Kramer was geared up for Eras night on Dancing With the Stars, where the eight remaining contestants danced to some of the most popular songs throughout the decades.

“Last week was amazing,” Jana said before her dance. “That was my goal going into the competition. I was like ‘I would love a perfect score.’ And now I’m going to accomplish the next thing: the mirror ball.”

jana-kramer-gleb-dwtsJana and her partner, Gleb Savchenko, were given the 1970s—the era of funk. The couple danced the samba to KC and The Sunshine Band’s “Get Down Tonight.”

“I just feel like there is so much pressure this week,” said Jana during a rehearsal. “Coming off of a perfect score, I’m back to zero, literally. We have to work our way up. I just feel super overwhelmed and then I feel like I just suck.”

Jana didn’t receive her best scores of the season, but was happy with the scores—8 from Carrie Ann Inaba, 9 from Julianne Hough, 8 from Len Goodman and 9 from Bruno Tonioli, giving her Jana a total of 34 out of 40 points.

“That girl can funk,” Bruno shouted. “She can get down, she can get up, she can get into anything in between—including wonderful shadow rolls. She can do a mean wash—just in case you get too dirty, she’ll take care of you. But never too dirty for me.”

“You’re a great dancer,” Carrie Ann added. “You had a few problems with musicality tonight, but I don’t want that to discourage you because I see your star growing brighter and brighter.”

At the end of the show, Jana found herself in jeopardy again, landing in the bottom two with Maureen McCormack. However, Maureen was sent home, and Jana is safe for another week.

You can see Jana and Gleb do their thing next week when Dancing With the Stars airs Monday nights at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
