George Strait will release Strait Out of the Box: Part 2 exclusively at Walmart stores on Nov. 18. This three-disc, 56-track collection features 36 hit singles, including 26 No. 1s. The new album also features two brand-new songs, including his latest radio single, “Goin’ Goin’ Gone,” and 18 choice album cuts, all personally selected by George.

Several Texas artists, including Aaron Watson, are celebrating the release of George’s new box set by covering their favorite King George tune.

One of Texas’ favorite sons, Randy Rogers, decided to tackle George’s 2007 hit, “Wrapped,” which was penned by another Lone Star State local, Bruce Robison. Randy recorded his version of “Wrapped” at Bruce’s Country Bunker recording studio in Lockhart, Texas.

Eli Young Band’s Jon Jones Gets Ready for Baby No. 2

Eli Young Band’s Jon Jones Gets Ready for Baby No. 2

Eli Young Band’s Jon Jones and his wife, Sarah, have one more thing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving: a baby girl.

“I have a second [child] on the way,” says Jon. “It’s weird how life-changing the first one is, but also how life-changing the second one is, just in the way it makes you think about life and what your place is, and your role as a father and kinda the one to look after the family. It’s going to be an amazing experience.”

Jon, who plays bass in the Eli Young Band, married Sarah in 2011. Together they have one son, Hudson, born on New Year’s Eve in 2012. The Jones’ baby girl will be the fourth child in the Eli Young Band family. Mike Eli has a daughter, Kline Olivia, and James Young has a son, Wills.

“Our son, Hudson, is three and a half, and we’re about to have a girl,” adds Jon. “So we’re gonna have one of each, and I think that’s gonna be great to do a little bit of what parenting has to offer and to experience both.”

With the baby due the day before Thanksgiving (Nov. 24), Jon and Sarah aren’t the only ones looking forward to the arrival of their second child.

“Hudson loves bossing people around and telling them what to do,” says Jon. “I think that he’s going to make a great older sibling. He’s really excited about being that older brother. So it’s about to get real in the Jones household.”

Currently, Eli Young Band is out on the road promoting their latest single, “Saltwater Gospel.”

Watch Randy Houser’s Heartfelt Performance of a New Song He Wrote for His Wife, “Our Hearts”

Watch Randy Houser’s Heartfelt Performance of a New Song He Wrote for His Wife, “Our Hearts”

Randy Houser may have been suffering from jet lag after his recent 20-plus-hour flight from Australia, but his voice showed no signs of fatigue as he performed an intimate show this afternoon (Oct. 5) at the Music City Performance Studio on the NASH FM 103.3 campus courtesy of Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee.

In addition to performing Top 5 hits “How Country Feels,” “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” “Goodnight Kiss” and “Like a Cowboy,” Randy debuted a new song, “Our Hearts,” which he wrote for his newlywed wife, Tatiana.

“This is a song I wrote about my wife, Tatiana, the way we met, just kind of the way everything is in our relationship,” said Randy as he introduced the song. “It’s kind of one of those songs that’s just about having your own thing and not letting anybody tell you what’s right or wrong, and not really giving a damn what anybody has to say about your relationship. When we went on our honeymoon, we met this other couple who was down there and they said, ‘Don’t ever let anyone tell you marriage sucks, because their marriage sucks, so don’t ever listen to that.’ I thought that was pretty cool, it reminded me of this song, so I wrote this. It goes like this, it’s called ‘Our Hearts,’ y’all.”

Last night (Oct. 5), Thomas Rhett’s inaugural charity concert event—aptly named Thomas Rhett & Friends—raised more than $250,000 for 147 Million Orphans, an organization that provides food, water, medicine, shelter and education to children in need. The event took place at Nashville’s The Old School, a nine-acre retreat that houses a restaurant, bar and live-music venue.

Listen to the Mavericks Get After It on “Back in Your Arms Again” From New Album, “All Night Live Volume 1”

Live and loud—that’s the best way to enjoy the music of the Mavericks, whose catalog of crowd-favorites include “What a Crying Shame,” “Here Comes the Rain” and “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down.”

With more than 20 tour dates this fall, including stops in Florida, Texas, New York, Virginia and Canada, there’s a good chance the four-piece is coming to a city near you. But if you can’t catch them live, we’ve got the next best thing: the Mavericks are releasing a new album, All Night Live Volume I, on Oct. 14.

The new album is curated from the Maverick’s 2015 Mono Mundo Tour and features 16 songs, including recent singles “All Night Long” and “Summertime.”

Nash Country Daily has the exclusive premiere of the new album’s “Back in Your Arms Again,” a song originally recorded on their 2013 album, In Time, which was the band’s first new music in almost 10 years.

“This is the song that made all of this happen again,” says frontman Raul Malo. “It sort of forced the issue and made us an offer we couldn’t refuse.”

Check out the Mavericks’ live version of “Back in Your Arms Again,” and pick up a copy of All Night Live Volume 1 on Oct. 14.

In Honor of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s 20th Anniversary, We Remember 5 of Their Greatest Duets

In Honor of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s 20th Anniversary, We Remember 5 of Their Greatest Duets

Congratulations to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, who are celebrating 20 years of wedded bliss today (Oct. 6).

The genetically blessed couple married on Oct. 6, 1996, in Rayville, La., and have since collaborated on a few hit songs, toured together several times and produced three beautiful daughters, Gracie (19), Maggie (18) and Audrey (14).

Considered country music’s royal couple, Tim and Faith saw sparks ignite when Faith was the opening act on Tim’s appropriately named Spontaneous Combustion Tour in 1996. More than 20 years later, the sparks are still flying. In an Instagram post on Faith’s birthday this year, Tim said: “Happy Birthday to this crazy, talented, beautiful woman. I’m am so lucky to be married to and be with her for the rest of my life. The best mother and role model that my 3 daughters could possibly have. She is extraordinary.”  Cue the collective Awwwww! They’ve still got it.

In honor of the happy couple, NCD put together five of our favorite Tim and Faith duets. Check them out and watch as the lovebirds melt our hearts. Happy 20th anniversary Tim and Faith!

1. “It’s Your Love”

Who could forget the first time Tim and Faith collaborated on “It’s Your Love” in 1997? Two of country’s hottest acts were recently wed and Faith was pregnant with their first child. Fans went crazy as the stunning couple professed their love to each other on this No. 1 hit—written by Stephony Smith—that fit so well for the power couple.

2. “Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me”

Released in 1998 and the second single from Faith Hill’s multi-platinum album, Faith, “Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me” had every country fan’s favorite couple reprising their love in the “It’s Your Love” video. The video, filmed entirely of close-ups due to the fact that Faith was pregnant, is shot in black and white to give their love a more intimate feel. Because everything looks sexier in black and white.

3. “Let’s Make Love”

If there was ever any doubt that Tim and Faith had scorching HOT chemistry, this video puts that argument to rest. Filmed in Paris France, “Let’s Make Love” gives you a voyeuristic peek into this super couple’s sexy marriage. The single and music video were released in 2000—only four short years after their wedding. In the video Tim and Faith show the world they want each other and they aren’t afraid to let us know that they want to make love.

4. “Like We Never Loved At All”

2005 was every fans worst nightmare: the breakup of Tim and Faith. Luckily for us, the superstar couple was only acting. Something they both had a taste of at this point in their careers—Faith with Stepford Wives and Tim with Friday Night Lights. The pain, the hurt, the heartbreak seemed so real in this video set in the 1970s—something we never want to see these two go through, but it sure was fun to watch them play the part.

5. “Meanwhile Back At Mama’s”

Their most recent collaboration, “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s,” was released in 2014 after 18 years of marriage. The song and video renewed our faith (pun intended) in the happy couple’s lasting love. This husband and wife team continues to make us long for simpler times and a marriage like theirs.

Faith Hill and Tim McGraw Receive Stars on Music City Walk of Fame

Faith Hill and Tim McGraw Receive Stars on Music City Walk of Fame

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill gathered in sunny downtown Nashville today (Oct. 5) to receive their stars on the Music City Walk of Fame, a fitting tribute as the couple celebrates their 20th wedding anniversary on Oct. 6.

Faith was honored first with the 73rd star on the Walk of Fame and was presented the award by her good friend Reba McEntire, who addressed the crowd as Faith was presented the plaque.

“There are so many people out here that are more responsible for all of my success than I am,” Faith said in her speech. “Thank you all so much. I love every single one of you. To the fans, we all know that nothing would be possible without you, truthfully. To our family, oh Lord,” Faith said as she began to cry. “Thank you, I love you so much. My big brother, thank you. God bless you, God bless this town of Nashville, Tennessee. I am so honored to accept this star on the Walk of Fame.”

Tim McGraw received the 74th star on the Walk of Fame and was also presented his plaque by Reba..

“I love Tim with all my heart,” Reba said. “And Tim and Faith have done so much for Nashville. They’ve done so much for me because friendship in this business is the A-number one thing. So I want to introduce to you a good looking hunk of man, Tim McGraw.”

Accepting his plaque, Tim had a few words for the crowd. “It’s so good to be here on a beautiful day in a city that I love so much with so many people that I love so much,” Tim said, getting choked up when he looked over at his mom. “Fortunately for me, I had a lot of great people around me. I had the support of my family, for sure, who when I told them I was going to quit college and move to Nashville, they said ‘Go ahead.’ I’ve had so many wonderful friends, so many people who stood beside me, so many people who supported me, so many people who had my back in times when maybe I didn’t deserve it. I want you all to know that I appreciate it.”

But that’s not all for happy couple. The night before (Oct. 4), Tim and Faith also announced, via their social media platforms, that they will be coming to NBC’s The Voice as two key advisors—a first for the show.

“I think having the perspective of performing live in many different venues, from clubs to stadiums, will help us in working with The Voice artists this season,” Faith said in a statement. “It’s important that they be able to connect with their audience.”

“I’m looking forward to working with the coaches to help the artists reach their potential,” Tim added.

Beginning Oct. 24, Tim and Faith will help out coaches Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keyes and Blake Shelton as mentors on the popular show.

Congratulations to Tim and Faith, who have been having one heck of an anniversary week!

If You Thought 30 Stars Were Going to Be Onstage Singing “Forever Country” at the CMA Awards, Think Again

If You Thought 30 Stars Were Going to Be Onstage Singing “Forever Country” at the CMA Awards, Think Again

After the Country Music Association released its all-star medley “Forever Country” in September, pundits, fans and media outlets have been speculating whether the 30 artists featured in the song will perform the tune onstage at the 50th anniversary of the CMA Awards on Nov. 2. According to CMA board member and “Forever Country” producer Shane McAnally, the answer is no.

“There won’t be, no,” said Shane, who addressed the media yesterday (Oct. 4) during Dierks Bentley’s No. 1 party for “Different for Girls,” a tune Shane co-wrote. “They’re gonna try and use [“Forever Country”] in some way [at the CMA Awards] but the amount of rehearsal time and the number of people that are in it . . . they just couldn’t get everyone to commit to that. But they’re gonna try and use it in some way if they can.”

In addition to handing out hardware in a number of categories, the CMA Awards also serve as a showcase for artists to perform their current or upcoming singles, and the show regularly features unique collaborations with cross-genre artists. In 2015, Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake stole the show by teaming together on “Tennessee Whiskey” and “Drink You Away,” but there were also a number of instances where artists performed their new singles, including Florida Georgia Line (“Confession”), Zac Brown Band (“Beautiful Drug”) and Eric Church (“Mr. Misunderstood”). That may not be the case this year.

CMA Awards logo“I don’t know what’s going to be sung on the CMAs, I’ve heard different talk,” says Shane. “I do know there’s going to be a lot of heritage artists, so you’re going to see a lot fewer current singles being pushed. Everybody this year has kind of—[CMA executive producer] Robert Deaton sort of sat down with managers and producers and said ‘This year we are going to honor the history of country music,’ so everybody has kind of taken their respective hats off of trying to promote something that’s happening right now. That doesn’t mean there won’t be some of that, but I think we’re definitely going to see a lot of throwback, and I’m really excited about that.”

The 50th annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. CT.
