Congrats to Luke Combs as “Doin’ This” moves into the number-one spot on the Billboard country airplay chart.
“Doin’ This” is the first single from Luke’s upcoming album, Growin’ Up, and it’s also the 13th number-one of Combs’ career.
Luke first found success on the country airplay chart with his debut single “Hurricane” in May of 2017.
Acknowledging the anniversary Luke shared, “Today is the 5 year Anniversary of ‘Hurricane’ going #1.I get to celebrate with my 13th in a row with ‘Doin’ This’. That’s INSANE! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this every step along the way. Wouldn’t be possible without you. Love y’all!”
With “Doin’ This” going number-one and the anniversary of “Hurricane” – you’d think that would be enough news for Luke this week…but he’s got one more thing for his fans…he released the track list for Growin’ Up.
Luke’s new project has 12-tracks, including a duet with Miranda Lambert!
It looks like the follow up single to “Doin’ This” will be “The Kind Of Love We Make” – arriving next month, just before the album drops on the 24th of June.
Luke gave everyone a little tease of his next single late last year when he shared a jam session on his tour bus.
Congrats to Luke on his 13th number-one song – “Doin’ This”
George Strait is giving his fans an early Christmas present with back-to-back shows in Vegas this December.
King George will be at the T-Mobile Arena December 2nd and 3rd with opener Caitlyn Smith.
Before he heads back to Las Vegas, Strait will also headline Kansas City’s GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on July 30 with special guests Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town and Parker McCollum.
In November, George will also have back-to-back concerts at Dickies Arena in his home state of Texas with Tenille Townes opening.
Heading into his shows this weekend – including playing Empower Field at Mile High in Denver with Luke Combs – Cody Johnson has just announced 22 new concert dates for this fall.
Cody has played every size stage there is…from club shows, to arenas, to Rodeo Houston, to stadiums…but it doesn’t matter where he steps out to perform because you are going to get the same effort every time from him.
As far as his philosophy to playing concerts, Cody says “Leave nothing behind. We play this show like it’s the last show we’re ever going to play…this is the show we get remembered for. I hit the stage with the exact same mentality and the exact same intensity every single night, because we’re not guaranteed tomorrow, so it’s like you gotta go out there and you gotta play it like it’s the last one. You gotta play it with the same intensity as if you’re never going to get to do it again.”
That’s not to say that Cody doesn’t enjoy all the work paying off, “Now, after the fact we can be like ‘man, that was cool’ but when you’re in the moment…you’re like, leave no doubt, leave nothing behind, make sure they remember your name.”
A lot of people are remembering Cody Johnson’s name as his hit song “‘Til You Can’t” continues to be one of the biggest hits on country radio.
Fans are still talking about the impactful music video too…
Tim McGraw is out on the road with his 2022 tour – and he’s having a blast.
Tim recently shared, “We’re making incredible memories night after night and y’all are just blowing me away!”
And he has the video to prove it…
Tim is out with his opening acts Russell Dickerson, Alexandra Kay, and Brandon Davis.
McGraw wants his fans to know – if you’re coming to see him, show up early for Russell, Alexandra and Brandon because you won’t regret it, “Well first, you’ve gotta come see ‘em because they’re just super talented. They’re both great singers that are great people. They have such an inner light to ‘em that I think that’s gonna resonate on the stage, and I think that’s even gonna come out more when they get in front of a big crowd, in front of a lot of people on a big stage. And I think that’s gonna be something that you’re not gonna wanna miss because I think that they’re gonna have a big career ahead of ‘em.”
When it comes to picking who is going to perform before him in concert, Tim says, “I always want people out there who are gonna push me and people I learn from. Every opening act I’ve ever had, I’ve watched from the side of the stage, and I’ve always learned something from ‘em. And I think when you stop learning from other artists, then you should probably hang it up. There’s so many people out there I learn from, from the newest artist out there to some of the artists that have been around for a long time. You learn something new every time you see ‘em. You know, I look for somebody that’s gonna certainly get the crowd goin’ and somebody who’s gonna bring their A game every time that they perform, cause that elevates me.”
The next stop for Tim, Russell, Alexandra and Brandon is Cleveland, followed by Philly and Raleigh.
Fans at every stop are looking forward to this latest hit from Tim – “7500 OBO”

ON DECK
Tennessee concludes the 2022 regular season on the road facing Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss. beginning on Thursday night at 6 p.m. CT/ 7 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee returns to Music City as the Volunteers will square off against Virginia to open the 2023 college football season on Saturday, Sept. 2 in Nissan Stadium, the two programs and the Nashville Sports Council announced Monday.
Tennessee was originally scheduled to begin the season against BYU in Provo, Utah, but this contest played in-state versus Virginia replaces that game.
“Pivoting to play a marquee non-conference opponent in Nashville made sense for multiple reasons,” Tennessee Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Danny White said. “This is a more accessible game for our fanbase. I expect that we will have a much larger contingent of fans in Nashville than would have been able to travel to Utah. Our fans also have heard me talk about the importance of finding new revenue to grow our operating budget, and playing Virginia at Nissan Stadium is an opportunity for a net-positive revenue game. I appreciate Virginia AD Carla Williams and the Nashville Sports Council for working with us to make this attractive matchup happen.”
This will be the third time that the Volunteers open a season in Nissan Stadium. Tennessee beat Bowling Green, 59-30, on Sept. 5, 2015, and topped Wyoming, 47-7, on Aug. 31, 2002. The Vols last played in Nissan Stadium in December in the 2021 TransPerfect Music City Bowl against Purdue.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Vols and Cavaliers to Nashville on opening weekend of the 2023 college football season,” Nashville Sports Council President and CEO Scott Ramsey said. “Both programs have a place in Nashville Sports history, having both played in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl. We look forward to hosting them along with their loyal fanbases and once again showcasing Nashville on a national stage.”
The 2023 opener will be the first meeting between the two teams since the 1991 Sugar Bowl when Tony Thompson plunged in from 1-yard out with 0:31 remaining to give Tennessee a 23-22 come-from-behind victory in New Orleans. The Vols lead the all-time series, 3-1. The other meetings occurred in Knoxville during regular seasons of 1927, 1940 and 1980.
Tennessee will serve as the designated home team for the 2023 opener. Ticket information and a kickoff time will be announced at a later date.
