Jessica Willis Fisher’s Debut Solo Album – Brand New Day, is Available Now

Jessica Willis Fisher‘s debut solo album Brand New Day is out now!

Jessica, once a part of the musical family group The Willis Clan, and also known for appearing on America’s Got Talent and TLC’s reality show The Willis Family, is finding her own path these days with her new project Brand New Day.

She shares, “I’ve truly lived every word on this album. That’s why these songs are both so much more vulnerable and empowering for me.”

Of the 10 tracks on the album, 9 Jessica had a direct hand in writing, including 8 that she wrote by herself.

Jessica says “I think if someone said ‘Here, write 8 songs for an album it would sound maybe a little daunting but I love writing…I’ve been writing songs since I was 16, before that I was writing poetry and I was wanted to be an author.”

So when it comes to having that accomplishment Jessica happily says “Younger me would be very proud.”

While the music on Brand New Day is new to fans, they are actually tracks that Jessica has lived with for a while, “Some of the songs I’d written years ago, but didn’t really have a chance to share or share in a way that I would’ve been proud of.”

But as the music tells the story of her journey, there’s new songs as well, “I just love the combination that came together. There are 10 tracks total and it feels right at that…I wanted to be able to really connect and be passionate about all the songs.”

Brand New Day track list:

  1. “Brand New Day” (Jessica Willis Fisher)
  2. “Fire Song” (Jessica Willis Fisher, Jon Randall)
  3. “Hopelessly, Madly” (Jessica Willis Fisher)
  4. “Slow Me Down” (Jessica Willis Fisher)
  5. “Lucky One” (Jessica Willis Fisher)
  6. “My History” (Jessica Willis Fisher)
  7. “River Runaway” (Jessica Willis Fisher)
  8. “You Move Me” (Gordon Scott Kennedy, Pierce Ray Pettis)
  9. “Gone” (Jessica Willis Fisher)
  10. “October First” (Jessica Willis Fisher)

When it comes to fans connecting with her songs, Jessica says “If someone truly resonates with them, we both get to feel seen. Together, we know we are not alone as we begin again, each and every day.”

Mitchell Tenpenny’s EP The Low Light Sessions – Available Now

Mitchell Tenpenny‘s EP The Lowlight Sessions is out now.

Talking about his new EP Mitchell says, “The Lowlight Sessions is probably my favorite project up to this point because it’s songs that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time.”

Fans will find Tenpenny’s life reflected in his music, “If you listen to it from the beginning to the end, you can see a story. You can see a struggle, you can see happiness, you can see different you know, aspects of my life all the way up to finding the one I love and the one I want to spend the rest of it with. So it’s just a story of you know, growing up.”

Mitchell adds, “I hope it takes you on a cinematic journey of the last six years of my life. I hope everyone can find their story in mine.”

The Low Light Sessions track listing:
1.  “Horseshoes and Hand Grenades” (Mitchell Tenpenny, Dallas Wilson)
2.  “Dear Jesus” (Mitchell Tenpenny, Andy Albert, Thomas Archer)
3.  “Mama Raised the Hell Out of Me” (Mitchell Tenpenny, Jaren Johnston, Zach Kale)
4.  “My Next Sad Song” (Mitchell Tenpenny, Joe Fox, Brandon Paddock, Geoff Warburton)
5.  “I Know Something She Don’t Know” (Mitchell Tenpenny, Brad Clawson)
6.  “I Can’t Get Another You” (Mitchell Tenpenny, Brent Anderson, Thomas Archer)

While fans will find many different ways to listen to The Low Light Sessions, Mitchell Tenpenny is hoping that you will listen to it at least once in the way it’s sequenced, “The order of the EP is very specific. It kind of goes through my life. It goes through a lot of emotions, you know, all the way to finding the one for the rest of my life. And I hope that you can just start from the beginning and listen to it that way. Create your own motion picture in the mind, if you will, and enjoy The Lowlight Sessions the way it was intended. And then once you find your favorite song, of course, you can go listen to that track, but I wrote it kind of as a movie, as a cinematic element. So go check it out that way.”

Mitchell Tenpenny’s The Low Light Sessions is available now.

Mitchell is climbing the Billboard country airplay chart this week with not one – but two songs!

First, he’s singing “At The End Of A Bar” with Chris Young

Then from his album Midtown Diaries – which is also available right now – Tenpenny’s current single is “Truth About You.”

Faith Hill Can’t Believe It’s Been 25 Years Since “It’s Your Love” Was Released

Faith Hill Can’t Believe It’s Been 25 Years Since “It’s Your Love” Was Released

In 1997 Tim McGraw and Faith Hill had the biggest country music song of that year with their duet “It’s Your Love.”

It was the first single from Tim’s 4th album, Everywhere.

Released in May it would rocket up the Billboard country chart to land at number-1 the first week of June and would camp out there for 6 weeks until the middle of July.

Faith Hill took to social media this week to reflect on the iconic track, “I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since Tim released the single ‘It’s Your Love.’ This was the very first duet we released, and it spent 6 weeks at #1 on the charts. While many more have followed, this one will always hold a special place in my heart. I was pregnant with our first child, Gracie, and I was craving milk shakes.”

Faith also shared this picture with the caption, “In this behind-the-scenes photo, I was most likely trying to hide the stain on my dress from the milk shake I devoured that day!!”

25 years later, and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill sound better than ever on the song “It’s Your Love.”

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The 14th-ranked Lady Vols softball team fell to third-ranked Virginia Tech, 5-2, Wednesday night at Sherri Lee Parker Stadium.

Junior outfielder Kiki Milloy recorded her 120th hit and stole the 70th base in her career in a performance that included two hits, one RBI and one stolen base.

Graduate transfer Erin Edmoundson and junior Ashley Rogers combined for 11 strikeouts, with Edmoundson fanning five batters and Rogers striking out six. Edmoundson suffered the loss and is now 17-5 on the year.

UT’s 11 strikeouts Wednesday night tied a season-high.

Virginia Tech (33-6, 15-2 ACC) wasted no time getting on the board as sophomore Emma Ritter reached second base on a fielding error and was brought home on a single by Meredith Slaw. Freshman Bree Peck hit a two-run home run over the wall in left-center to give the Hokies an early 3-0 lead after the first inning.

Tennessee (30-13, 11-6 SEC) narrowed the Hokie lead in the bottom of the third, thanks to a leadoff single by Milloy. She advanced to second with her 24th stolen base of the year. Sophomore infielder Zaida Puni singled to third and Milloy scored to cut the gap to a 3-1 deficit.

In the bottom of the fourth, sophomore Rylie West belted a leadoff single to right field and then advanced to second on an error by right fielder Morgan Overaitis. Milloy recorded her second hit of the night, smoking a two-out double to right field where West scored, shrinking the Hokie lead to one run at 3-2.

Rogers replaced Edmoundson in the top of the fifth inning when Virginia Tech had runners on first and third. Rogers stepped up by striking out Peck and outfielder Darby Trull in consecutive at-bats to get out of the jam.

Virginia Tech extended their lead in the top of the sixth as Kelsey Bennett drew a walk and was followed by Jayme Bailey. Bailey hit a two-run home run to left, stretching the Hokies’ lead out to 5-2.

VT’s Emma Lemley got the start in the circle and picked up her 13th win of the year after tossing four innings, striking out four and allowing two runs on six hits. Keely Rochard came on in relief and threw three scoreless innings, tallying five strikeouts and earning her fifth save of the season.

UP NEXT: UT will welcome East Carolina and UNC Greensboro to Knoxville this weekend for its second home tournament of the season, dubbed the Lady Vol Challenge. The Lady Vols will play a doubleheader against the Pirates and Spartans on Saturday at 1:30 and 4:00 p.m., respectively, before closing out the event Sunday at 1 p.m. against ECU.
