If you missed her birthday yesterday (July 29th) and didn’t get her a gift…don’t worry!
Turns out that when it comes to presents, Ashley’s much more of a giver than a getter, “I prefer giving. I love to see the look one somebody’s face when they know you’ve put a lot of thought into them. Um, getting is a little awkward for me. I know how to say thank you but it’s still like uhhhh. So, giving is awesome and I can even do it by surprise, but I just love it when someone goes, ‘Wow, thank you!’ That’s cool.”
Ashley is taking the weekend off from her This Town Talks tour – hey, who doesn’t like to have their birthday off from work – but she’s back it next week.

Johnny Dailey‘s new song “Driving Things Around” probably wouldn’t have been possible without driving around in his cousin’s truck.
Johnny shares that it was there, in that truck, that he discovered a love for country music. “I was always drawn to country music because of the story telling.”
It wasn’t long after that discovery that he started to make his own music, “My dad gave me my first guitar when I was 12 years old and I started playing in church and then eventually started writing songs in high school.”
Johnny says, “I’ve always had a desire to tell my story through song and have it connect with people in some way. Songs have always been a source of comfort for me and I’ve always wanted to sing songs that provide that comfort for other people. It’s a good feeling when you know someone else has been in your shoes.”
That thought echoes today in all of his music, especially with his song “Driving Things Around” – “I hope when people listen to my music they can hear a little bit of their story in it too.”
When it comes to his new song, Johnny says “‘Driving Things Around’ is an anthem for the simple life. To me, it perfectly depicts that small town way of living that I grew up in and that I’m always trying to be around as much as I can. Whether it’s loading up the back with wood for a new project, driving through a pasture, or drinking a beer on the tailgate, it’s hard to live my life without a truck around.”
Check out this special early preview of Johnny Dailey’s new song “Driving Things Around” – available everywhere tomorrow July 30th!

If you’ve heard Jameson Rodgers song “Cold Beer Calling My Name” – which he sings with Luke Combs, you need to see the video. Jameson says he had a great time during the shoot, “Man, that was a blast. I got to drive a beer truck, that was a first. Got to deliver some beer that day.”
There was a lot of other great moments while filming the video…but he’s glad one thing did not happen between him and Luke, “I was fortunate, that there wasn’t like a shot-gunning challenge, between me and Luke that day. I kind of made sure that didn’t happen because that would have…you’ve seen Luke shotgun a beer I’m sure. It’s impressive. I can probably think of maybe another thing or two I can beat Luke at but that’s not one.”
Jameson isn’t kidding about Luke’s beer shot-gunning skills…he basically has it down to a science…
Now that’s a talent!
While Jameson might not be ready to go to toe-to-toe with Luke at shot-gunning, he is ready to hit the road on his Cold Beer Calling My Name tour which starts next week in Rootstown, Ohio and runs through the end of 2021 – wrapping with a show in Nashville, TN.
Fans will be looking forward to seeing Jameson play “Cold Beer Calling My Name” and his number-one hit “Some Girls”…

LadyA‘s Charles Kelley shares that before he found his voice as a lead singer, he got his musical start as a drummer…but not a good one. “Something that most people probably don’t know is I actually first started playing drums before I realized I could sing. And you know, I wasn’t a very good drummer.”
But lucky for us, Charles kept with music and performing only to discover his talents lay elsewhere. “All of a sudden I started singing some and realized that I was better at that, and that the front man needed to be seen.”
Charles will be flexing his front man skills this weekend as the What A Song Can Do tour kicks off in Connecticut.
Check out the dates for the tour to see if it’s heading your way…

Congrats to Elvie Shane and his wife, Mandi, on the birth of their daughter Zaelyn Journey Payton. While he just announced the news this week, Zaelyn actually arrived last Tuesday July 20th.
Elvie’s breakthrough hit “My Boy” was inspired by his relationship with his son Caleb – who, Elvie says that he doesn’t see him as his step-son, just the son that was born before he met him.
Even before Elvie knew that Zaelyn would be entering his life, he thought that when people heard “My Boy” – there might be parents who would want a “My Girl” version…and now that he is a “Girl Dad” himself – all of his bases are covered.
Elvie shares the story behind creating “My Girl”, “We realized that there was one big problem with this song…I got together with the guys, and was like ‘Hey man, people are going to want a girl version and I put this together…it’s pretty easy, you change the pronouns…blah, blah, blah’ So, props to my label, they were like ‘Go in there and get it done for your people’ and I still get some people from time to time who message me asking me to do a girl version and it’s always fun to just go to copy paste and send it to them in their inbox and just send them a little wink, you know.”
