Lady A’s Dave Haywood Thinks All the Fireworks Were for His Birthday

Lady A’s Dave Haywood Thinks All the Fireworks Were for His Birthday

Happy birthday to Dave Haywood from Lady A!

While his birthday is July 5th, when he was younger he kinda thought all the 4th of July fireworks were a little pre-celebration for him.

Dave shares, “My mom used to tell me the fireworks were always for me, for my birthday, so I’ve always believed that that holiday was celebrating my birthday the next day.”’

Of course he knows the truth now, but America’s birthday has always been a special time for him, “It’s a special kind of week for us to get together as family and have the 4th together. And I love fireworks. We grew up in Georgia and I think fireworks were illegal most of our life. We would always buy them and sneak them in from South Carolina and shoot off sparklers and Roman candles and black cats and all the fun stuff you’d buy at the fireworks store. So, it’s a special holiday for a lot of reasons.”

Happy birthday Dave – perhaps some champagne is order to celebrate!

Alan Jackson Recalls a Very Special 4th of July in New York

Alan Jackson Recalls a Very Special 4th of July in New York

Alan Jackson has had a lot of memorable 4th of July celebrations…but there’s one for him that rises above all the others.

Alan shares, “Well, this one is hard to beat. A couple of years ago, I had an old boat in Florida. It’s like an old antique motor yacht, and it was kind of a cool old boat. I’ve always wanted to take it up north like to New York…so, we took the boat up there and Denise and the girls, we all went up. They like going to New York. So they spent time in the city a few days and then that was Fourth of July, and we went out in the Hudson River that night and they shot the fireworks off and we were anchored out in front of the Statue of Liberty and New York City was behind us, and the Statue of Liberty and the fireworks were going off sitting on that boat. That was the coolest thing and my girls still talk about that. I mean, that was the coolest thing on Fourth of July I can ever remember. I can’t top that one.”

Alan didn’t mention if he had a chance to water ski on that trip…but we’d like to think he did.

Justin Moore Loves the 4th of July Because There’s No Wrapping Involved

Justin Moore Loves the 4th of July Because There’s No Wrapping Involved

The 4th of July has a lot of reasons for being someone’s favorite holiday.

Justin Moore shares why he’s a big fan of the America’s birthday, “Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. One, because I love summer and hot weather and hate winter. And my wife’s birthday is the fifth, so 4th of July is huge for us.”

He’s especially looking forward to getting back to his usual way of celebration the holiday, “With the exception of this past year, 2020, we always spend it at the beach and do fish fries and the whole beach thing. I love 4th of July. It’s just good food, it’s good weather. I love fireworks, I’m like a child. So, 4th of July, it’s a big family day for us.”

But one of Justin’s biggest reasons for loving the day – “4th of July is my favorite holiday cause you don’t have to worry about gifts and all that good stuff.”

Justin recently gave his fans a musical present with an acoustic version of current single “We Didn’t Have Much” – which is one of the 8 tracks on his album, Straight Outta The Country.

When Chris and his wife Kelly were ready to exchange vows, they didn’t want to wait – and thought the 4th would be the perfect anniversary date!

Chris shares how it happened, “Who wants to work six months to get married-I mean whatever we didn’t have time for doing that plus I was working a lot of the time as I always am with music I can just never stop so we just decided well July fourth is coming up…that be kind of cool to have it out on the farm with fireworks. So that’s what we did we got married on the fourth of July. So that’s an easy holiday to remember.”

Michael Ray is 4th of July Guinness World Record Holder

Michael Ray is 4th of July Guinness World Record Holder

Michael Ray has a lot of great 4th of July memories from over the years, “We all throw the big fireworks and gather around the lake and drink and grill and have fun.”

But there’s one particular celebration that stands out when he thinks about the American holiday – it was the one where he became a World Record holder.

Michael explains, “I was a part of a Guinness world record with the biggest amount of sparklers lit at once at a show. so technically I have a Guinness World Record hanging up in the apartment from Haines City for their Fourth of July bash that they threw, there were like 997 or 96 sparklers lit at once, and we took it from Japan, so it was cool.”

Michael Ray will be enjoying his Fourth of July this year – and then he’ll be hitting the road as country music is rolling out after a year and half of being stuck at home.

His song “Whiskey and Rain” is climbing the country music chart – check out the music video right here…
