Tennessee guard Keon Johnson spoke to the media in the postgame after No. 10 Tennessee defeated Vanderbilt at home 81-61.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On Sunday, #23/24 Tennessee (8-2, 2-1 SEC) faces team number two in a challenging three-game stretch, traveling to Tuscaloosa to play RV/NR Alabama (11-1/4-1 SEC). The Lady Vols and Crimson Tide will meet for the 58th time in the series at 2 p.m. CT (3 p.m. ET) at Coleman Coliseum.
UT saw a six-game victory string snapped in Knoxville on Thursday night, as Georgia overcame a 17-point deficit and held off a furious Big Orange comeback attempt to escape with a 67-66 victory. It marked Georgia’s first win at Thompson-Boling Arena since 1996.
UT’s only other setback is an overtime road loss to West Virginia (8-2), which is receiving votes in both polls and thundered past (then) No. 17/17 Texas last week by a 92-58 count. The Big Orange women have victories over two top-15 teams, including (then) No. 15/15 Indiana in Bloomington (66-58) on Dec. 17 and (then) No. 13/13 Arkansas (88-73) in Knoxville on Jan. 7.
Bama, meanwhile, is off to an impressive 11-1/4-1 start this season, winning its last three games after taking down No. 14/14 Mississippi State in Starkville on Thursday night. In addition to the triumph over Mississippi State, UA has a notable win over Oklahoma State and SEC “Ws” over LSU, Missouri and Vanderbilt. The Tide’s only loss came at home vs. (then) No. 2 South Carolina, 77-60, on Jan. 4.
In the current SEC standings, Alabama sits in second place, while Tennessee is fifth. The teams are two of only five league programs with only one loss or fewer. The others are South Carolina (4-0), Georgia (3-1) and Texas A&M (3-1).

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – After the 2020 season was truncated due to the coronavirus global pandemic, Tennessee softball is ready to return to action nearly 330 days later with a packed slate for the 2021 season, announced co-head coaches Ralph and Karen Weekly on Friday.
The Lady Vols’ current lineup includes seven midweek games and matchups with seven teams that finished in the top 25 in 2020. Sixteen home outings have been scheduled, in addition to the Tennessee Invitational which is set for Feb. 26-28 at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
The Lady Vols open the season in Conway, S.C., on Feb. 12 with a three-day tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina before they continue their tournament tour at Troy University on Feb. 19-21.
After its home-opening weekend, UT will head to College Station, Texas, for a tournament hosted by league opponent Texas A&M. The Lady Vols and Aggies will match up as nonconference opponents during the weekend after missing their scheduled series to start conference play in 2020.
The Orange and White, however, will kick off its official SEC slate on March 12 with a weekend series against LSU, which finished at No. 5 on the USA Today/NFCA Coaches poll last season with a 21-3 record. Tennessee then heads to Tuscaloosa, Ala., March 19-21 to face off with Alabama. The Crimson Tide finished last year ranked 10th with a 14-8 record.
The Lady Vols will also host Kentucky (April 2-4), Georgia (April 23-25) and Missouri (May 7-9) to close out the regular season and visit Mississippi State (April 9-11), South Carolina (April 16-18) and Auburn (April 30-May 2). All, but Auburn, finished 2020 in the top-25 rankings.
UT’s midweek slate features regional opponents Bellarmine (March 16), Kennesaw State (March 24), Liberty (March 30) and Western Carolina (April 27 in Cullowhee, N.C.) and in-state rivals Austin Peay State (March 10), Tennessee Tech (April 7) and Tennessee State (April 14). It will be the first-ever meeting between the Lady Vols and the Knights of Bellarmine.
Tournament schedules and game times will be updated as they become available.
While some fans will be permitted at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium during the 2021 campaign, ticketing and seating will be reduced to adhere to pandemic-related health and safety standards. 2020 softball season-ticket holders have been emailed and given the option to opt in or out of the 2021 season. After we have determined season-ticket holder demand, we will continue with our ticketing process. There are no softball tickets available on AllVols.com at this time.

Blake Shelton‘s new song “Minimum Wage” is out now!
The country music super star shares that he’s actually had the track for a while now, “‘Minimum Wage’ is a song that I heard for the first time about a year ago…maybe a little but longer, and had a lot of ideas how I wanted to record this song.”
Blake recalls hearing “Minimum Wage” for the first time, “I fell in love with it instantly. I love the message of the song, and I love that it says something about how you don’t need a lot of money, you don’t need all the possessions in the world, you just need to have love.” And the best part for him, “The song on top of that…is just a blast.”
So, putting on his “judge hat” like he does on NBC’s The Voice, what is Blake’s assessment of his new song, “‘Minimum Wage’ is just all about having fun. Listen to this record, it’s got an awesome intro…which I love. It’s got a killer guitar solo…and I guess the singing is OK too.”

Some times when you are listening to a song it’s hard to tell which lyrics are true to the artist singing, and which ones are just made up to help the song.
Well, when you listen to Ingrid Andress‘ “Lady Like” and she sings about not even owning a dress…that one is real, “So, one of the lines in the song is ‘I don’t even own a dress’, and that is true! I don’t. I really don’t.”
Ingrid says that she doesn’t have anything against dresses, she just doesn’t think that she looks good in them, “It’s not on purpose, because I feel like a lot of people can rock dresses, and I have nothing against them on other people…for me, I just feel like…a little confined in a dress. And it’s just, for some reason, whenever I look at myself in the mirror and I’m in a dress it just doesn’t seem right. It feels like I’m playing dress up or something. So, I feel like my personality does not gravitate toward the dress part of the store.”
Along with not owning a dress, get to know a little more about Ingrid Andress and which lyrics are true in her song “Lady Like”…

Raleigh Keegan has just released the lyric video for his brand new track “Long Line of Lovers.”
Raleigh had a very special audience in mind when he created the song, “To me, writing ‘Long Line of Lovers’ was a love letter to my wife Shelby.”
With lyrics like “Me, I’ve had my vices, but thank god these day mine is lovin’ on you” – it’s not hard to imagine that the “love letter” was well received.
When you listen, you realize that the “long line of lovers” might not be what you originally thought you’d get from the song…Raleigh shares, “I was thinking about our first official date and how at some point I would have to tell her about my family history. The song whimsically tells the story of my family and all that comes with that, but also slips in the fact that these days all I have been doing is loving her.”
The opening line bares a lot of truth to Raleigh’s life, “The shade of my family tree, sure left it’s mark on me. That was one hell of a rock to crawl out from under.”
He was born inside the Columbus State Penitentiary – where his biological mother was serving time for drug use. Raleigh’s first crawl out from under that hell of a rock was being adopted by a loving family in Cincinnati.
Always having a passion for music, he taught himself how to play piano and guitar. After college he decided to throw himself completely into making music for a living, by selling his house, and making the move to Nashville in 2018. As an independent artist he’s booked himself over 100 performing gigs a year, and accrued nearly 4 million streams of his songs.
Raleigh has worked with producer Ryan Gore (Jon Pardi, Old Dominion) on his music, including “Long Line of Lovers.” Ryan says “Raleigh is a rare breed of artist. He is bold enough to be different than the mold but has the skill to back it up. It’s not everyday you get to work with an artist who knows who they are, what they want to say, and has undeniable talent.”
When it comes to the music he makes, Raleigh says, “I like a mix of old and new – I like to stay somewhere in the middle. Bringing elements of old and new country together with a bit of soul.”

Are you ready to watch the NFL playoffs this weekend?
It’s the second round, with another full slate of games, and self-professed football nut Darius Rucker can’t wait, “Ever since I was five years old, I’ve loved football”
Darius says, “I love how physical it is. I love the chess match of the game. I love the speed of the game. I love college football, but for me watching pro football is better because the speed is so much more. For me, there’s two times a year, man — football season and waiting for football season.”
