Luke Combs’ New Wife-Inspired Song, “Forever After All,” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart

Luke Combs’ New Wife-Inspired Song, “Forever After All,” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart

Luke Combs’ new wife-inspire song, “Forever After All,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart (streaming, sales and airplay-based) this week. The new tune also debuted at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking the highest entrance ever for a male country solo artist.

The song is one of five brand-new tracks featured on Luke’s new deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, which also includes all 18 songs from the digital version of Luke’s 2019 sophomore album, What You See Is What You Get.

The new tune features Luke sweetly crooning about his wife, Nicole Hocking: “They say nothin’ lasts forever / But they ain’t seen us together / Or the way the moonlight dances in your eyes / And I know they’ll be that moment / The Good Lord calls one of us home and / One won’t have the other by their side / But heaven knows that that won’t last too long / Maybe some thing last forever after all.”

After dating for four years, Luke and Nicole tied the knot on Aug. 1 in Florida. Nicole was the muse for Luke’s No. 1 single “Beautiful Crazy,” as well as “Better Together.”

Watch Lee Brice’s Stirring New Video for “Memory I Don’t Mess With”

Lee Brice released a video for his new single, “Memory I Don’t Mess With.”

Penned by Lee, Brian Davis and Billy Montana, the new single impacted country radio on Nov. 2.

“It’s about exactly what it says,” says Lee. “It’s one of those memories, it’s one of those things that you can’t let yourself get too close to because it just pulls you in too deep. The memory’s always there. The pictures are always there in your head. But that’s the one you’ve just gotta let alone, and let just be a memory.”

Lee scored his eighth No. 1 single with “One of Them Girls,” which topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart for three weeks in October. The tune followed Lee’s previous No. 1 single, “Rumors,” which reached the top of the charts in July 2019, and his collaboration with Carly Pearce, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” which peaked at No. 1 earlier this year.

“Memory I Don’t Mess With” is featured on Lee’s upcoming sixth studio album, Hey World, which drops on Nov. 20.

Miranda Lambert Says Female Representation at the CMA Awards “Is a Little Bit of a Step in a Good Direction”

Miranda Lambert Says Female Representation at the CMA Awards “Is a Little Bit of a Step in a Good Direction”

Miranda Lambert recently added a new bullet point to her impressive résumé: most nominated female artist in CMA Awards history. Miranda leads all artists this year with seven nominations at the upcoming 54th CMA Awards on Nov. 11, bringing her total number of career nominations to 55, which surpasses Reba McEntire’s 51 nominations.

Miranda’s seven nominations include: Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year (“Bluebird”), Album of the Year (Wildcard), Song of the Year (“Bluebird”), Musical Event of the Year (“Fooled Around And Fell In Love”) and Music Video of the Year (“Bluebird”).

In addition, Carrie Underwood is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, marking the first time since 2000 (Faith Hill and The Chicks) that two female artists/acts are nominated in the night’s most-coveted category.

As Miranda told Nights With Elaina host Elaina Smith, the female representation at the CMA Awards is a “little bit of a step in a good direction,” but she’s not getting complacent in her mission to champion female artists.

“I do feel like it’s taken a little bit of a step in a good direction,” says Miranda. “I kinda hope that it’s not just because everybody is tired of hearing about it, but I feel like that’s part of the reason. So that part of it kinda keeps me from getting too excited, because we put so much focus on it for so long that I think it will balance out soon, but either way, I’m glad to have a spot there [as Entertainer of the Year] and that it’s happening, and I know we’ve earned it, so that’s what gives me peace about it.”

Tune in to the CMA Awards on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
