Watch Maren Morris Perform “To Hell & Back” at CMT Music Awards

Maren Morris delivered a stirring rendition of her single, “To Hell & Back,” as part of the CMT Music Awards on Oct. 21. Maren’s performance was recorded in Ashland City, Tenn., about 25 miles northwest of Nashville.

Penned by Maren, Jessie Jo Dillon and Laura Veltz, “To Hell & Back” is currently No. 37 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart after 29 weeks.

During a recent media Q&A, Maren revealed why she decided to release “To Hell & Back” as her new single during the pandemic.

“I chose ‘To Hell & Back’ to put out as a single right now because I think we’re in such a reflective time being sort of stuck at home either by ourselves or with our families, with our dogs, we just have a lot of time to have some introspection, and I feel like ‘To Hell & Back’ is very much about accepting your imperfections and the person in your life accepting them as well, whether that’s your partner or your friends or your family. I think it’s all about your halo’s a little bent, a little dirty, and that person still thinks you’re the cat’s meow. And I love that because it really is this unconditional sort of love that’s not based around ‘Well, you do this for me and you be this perfect person I put on a pedestal and then we can talk about loving each other forever.’ This is like, ‘I will love you no matter what sort of ashes we’re sitting in, because we’re sitting in them together.’”

So we went ahead and, per the people, tried it for the new record. This record’s crazy! So it is officially going to be the single off the record coming up.”

Watch Miranda Lambert’s New Video for “Settling Down” Starring Her Husband

Miranda Lambert released a new video for her current single, “Settling Down,” on Oct. 21. The new clip features her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, as her love interest.

Penned by Miranda, Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby, “Settling Down” is featured on Miranda’s 2019 album, Wildcard. The mid-tempo tune is currently No. 40 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart after four weeks.

The new single juxtaposes Miranda’s wanderlust with her desire to spend time at home.

“My mom always tells me—it’s where the line [in the song] comes from—but she would always say, ‘You’re a wild child and a homing pigeon,’ because I really love to be home,” says Miranda. “I love my animals and my family and, you know, making casseroles and listening to Merle Haggard. I love to be on my own porch, but I also can leave and be ready to go anywhere in 15 minutes. I just need a guitar and some fringe and I’m ready to roll out the door. Everything else you can buy at Target, you know what I mean? I have this itch always to find a new adventure, but I’m always so ready to just walk through my own front door.”

Luke Combs Readies 23-Song Deluxe Album for Oct. 23

Luke Combs Readies 23-Song Deluxe Album for Oct. 23

Luke Combs will release his new deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, on Oct. 23.

The new album will feature all 18 songs from the digital version of Luke’s 2019 sophomore album, What You See Is What You Get, as well as five brand-new tracks: “Cold as You,” “The Other Guy,” “My Kinda Folk,” “Forever After All,” and “Without You,” featuring Amanda Shires.

Add it all up and you get more than 80 minutes of Luke.

Luke’s four year-career on the charts has been nothing short of amazing. It’s also been historic. Luke is the first artist in country music history to have his first two albums—This One’s for You and What You See Is What You Get—spend at least 25 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

In addition, Luke is the first country artist in history whose first nine singles have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Of Luke’s nine No. 1 hits on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, eight have had multi-week runs at No. 1.

Luke is trying to score his unprecedented 10th consecutive No. 1 single—to start a career—with the release of “Better Together.” The new tune, which was penned by Luke, Dan Isbell and Randy Montana, impacted country radio on Oct. 12.

Brett Young Shares Performance Video of “Lady” in Honor of Daughter’s First Birthday [Watch]

Brett Young Shares Performance Video of “Lady” in Honor of Daughter’s First Birthday [Watch]

In honor of his daughter’s first birthday on Oct. 21, Brett Young shared a new performance video of “Lady” from his recent live-stream concert at the Ryman Auditorium. Brett co-penned the single with Ross Copperman and Jon Nite shortly before the birth of his daughter, Presley, in October 2019. The song pays tribute to Presley and Brett’s wife, Taylor.

“‘Lady’ is easily one of the most special songs I’ve ever written,” says Brett. “I always knew I would want to write songs for my children, but didn’t realize the inspiration would come so quickly before my daughter was even born. It’s a message to Presley about her mom and it became a pretty obvious choice for my first single in a new chapter of music. It’s so meaningful to Taylor and I, and I hope it resonates in a similar way for anyone who listens.”

The sweet song features Brett crooning the chorus: “I hope you look just like your mama / And love her like I do / You’ll see close to perfect patience / If you watch her every move / You can always run to daddy / You’ll always be my baby / But look at her, baby girl / And you’ll learn how to be a lady.”

“Lady,” which is currently No. 32 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, is the lead single from Brett’s upcoming third studio album.
