Tennessee Transitioning to Mobile Ticketing for 2020-21

After successfully introducing a mobile ticketing option for single-game football tickets in 2019, Tennessee Athletics is transitioning to mobile ticketing for all ticket options across all ticketed sports in 2020-21.

Mobile tickets, which exist digitally on smart phones and are scanned when entering an athletic venue, promote health and safety via contactless entry while also enhancing convenience and efficiency by easing flow through venue entry points.

“With the ever-changing landscape surrounding athletics due to COVID-19, we realized the safest way to provide tickets is through the use of mobile delivery, with tickets being sent digitally to the account holder’s registered email address,” Associate Athletics Director for Fan Experience & Sales Jimmy Delaney said.

Mobile tickets also provide heightened security against counterfeit or stolen tickets.

Tennessee fans who find themselves unable to attend certain games now have the ability to conveniently transfer tickets to friends or family members digitally, without the need for shipping or swapping physical tickets in person.

Mobile ticketing will be available for Tennessee football, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball.

Step-by-step instructions, helpful tips and answers to frequently asked questions are available at: UTsports.com/DigitalTickets

Ticket holders who don’t have a smart phone or do not utilize email may call the Tennessee Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-332-VOLS (8657) to talk through their options.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO UTILIZE MOBILE TICKETING?

  • Ticket holders need a smart phone, access to their AllVols.com account and a digital wallet app—which is free.
  • iPhone users can add their tickets to their Apple Wallet by selecting the “Add to Apple Wallet” icon within their AllVols.com order confirmation email.
  • Similarly, Android users can add tickets to their Android-based wallet app with the same “Add to Wallet” icon within their AllVols.com order confirmation email.
  • Tennessee Athletics highly recommends downloading tickets to one’s digital wallet app prior to arriving at the game venue to avoid potential connectivity issues.

Jason Aldean released a new video for his Top 20 single, “Got What I Got.” Penned by Thomas Archer, Alex Palmer and Michael Tyler, “Got What I Got” is featured on Jason’s 2019 album, 9.

“When I first heard ‘Got What I Got,’ it reminded me of something Boyz II Men would do . . . almost like a 90s R&B throwback song,” says Jason. “It’s just not something you really hear in country music that much. Plus, now more than ever, I think we’re all just being reminded how to appreciate the people we love.”

The new video, which was directed by Shaun Silva and filmed in Destin, Fla., features Jason, wife Brittany and their family.

“We’d been down at the beach during quarantine and have had a lot of time to to appreciate each other,” says Jason. “With a skeleton video crew and social distancing, it was an all-hands-on-deck shoot that made for a little twist at the end.”

“Johnny Majors: Straight Ahead” To Air on ESPNU on July 3

KNOXVILLE – “Johnny Majors: Straight Ahead,” an hour-long documentary celebrating the life and legacy of the late Tennessee legend and College Football Hall of Famer, will debut at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, July 3 on ESPNU and then re-air at noon ET on Sunday, July 5 on WVLT-TV Channel 8 in Knoxville.

The VFL Films documentary features interviews with former Vol players and coaches and takes a look at the storied career of Majors, which began in 1954 as a player and continued as head coach in 1977.

ESPNU will devote five hours of Majors tribute coverage on Friday beginning with Tennessee’s 1991 Sugar Bowl comeback victory over Virginia at 6 p.m. ET. The Vols used a 20-point fourth quarter and a pair of Tony Thompson touchdowns to rally for a 23-22 win to cap the program’s 100th anniversary season in Majors’ 14th year as head coach. Following the documentary, the network will show the 1977 Sugar Bowl featuring Majors’ Pitt team defeating Georgia.

A 1987 inductee of the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame, Majors played for the Volunteers from 1954-56, served as an assistant coach from 1957-59 and later was Tennessee’s head football coach from 1977-92. He passed away on June 3 at the age of 85.

Majors’ No. 45 was retired by his alma mater in 2012—one of only eight to earn that distinction. A native of Lynchburg, Tennessee, he was a two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year, a unanimous All-American in 1956 and the Heisman Trophy runner-up that same season.

Majors returned to his alma mater and was 116-62-6 as head coach for the Vols with three conference championships (1985, 1989 and 1990) and 12 bowl appearances.
