KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT)— Zoo Knoxville is giving guests a rare look behind the scenes with its new “Wild Access” tour experience.
The program offers visitors an inside peek at areas not normally open to the public, including animal care facilities, nutrition preparation areas, and veterinary spaces.
Zoo officials say the tour is designed for families, animal lovers, and anyone interested in learning more about conservation and daily zoo operations.
Wild Access tours are offered Tuesday through Saturday at 1 p.m. and last approximately 45 minutes. Group sizes are limited to ensure a more personal experience.
While visitors may not see animals during the tour, they will get a closer look at how zookeepers care for them behind the scenes.
There is an additional fee for the experience, costing $25 for zoo members and $30 for nonmembers.
