KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee had five players named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, which were announced on Tuesday.
Reese Chapman, Levi Clark, Tegan Kuhns, Landon Mack and Garrett Wright were all recognized for their combination of impressive performances on the field as well as in the classroom.
UT’s five all-district selections are tied for the most in a single year in program history, matching the 2023 team’s five honorees.
In order to quality for CSC Academic All-District status, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and boast a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA while also serving as a main contributor to their team on the field, having competed in 90 percent of the institution’s games played or having started in at least 66 percent of the institution’s games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
The Vols’ five selections all played a major hand in helping the Big Orange extend their program record streak of consecutive NCAA Regional appearances, as Tennessee advanced to its seventh in a row this year after earning a two-seed in the Chapel Hill Regional.
Academic All-District honorees were also considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 23.
