KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – (WOKI / WVLT) –
One person was taken to the hospital Sunday night following a suspected road rage shooting in North Knoxville, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the area of Tazewell Pike and Sanders Drive around 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
According to KPD, one person suffered injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released information on the victim’s condition or the severity of the injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident. Police said other individuals believed to be involved were being detained and questioned Sunday night as detectives worked to determine exactly what led up to the shooting.
No charges had been announced as of Sunday evening, and the investigation remains active.
