EAST TENNESSEE (WOKI / WVLT) — A blast from the past is returning to parts of East Tennessee as Pizza Hut rolls out a retro dining experience at select locations.
The company announced plans to bring back classic features from its earlier days, including red plastic cups, checkered tablecloths, vinyl booths, Tiffany-style lamps and even arcade games.
In Tennessee, the only two locations currently participating are in Oneida at 19945 North Alberta Avenue and in Sweetwater at 788 Highway 68.
Pizza Hut’s parent company, Yum! Brands, says the move is part of a broader effort to encourage customers to dine in rather than rely solely on takeout or delivery.
Company leaders say the decision is driven by a growing demand for nostalgic experiences, with customers looking for simple, familiar settings that offer comfort and a sense of connection.
The retro upgrade reflects a wider trend in dining, where familiar and classic touches are making a comeback.
Pizza Hut says more locations could be updated in the future as the initiative expands.
