Nashville, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – A new Dolly Parton-inspired race is set to bring music, fun and community spirit to downtown Nashville in 2026.
Run Nash has announced the inaugural “9to5K” Run & Walk, scheduled for Saturday, September 5.
The event will feature a 5K race through downtown Nashville, along with a one-mile option designed for participants of all ages and abilities. Additional activities include a kids “Dolly Dash,” a stiletto dash, a costume contest and themed photo opportunities.
Organizers are encouraging participants to embrace the spirit of Dolly Parton by dressing in rhinestones, big hair, business attire or full Dolly-inspired glam.
“We wanted to create something that feels uniquely Nashville—fun, a little over-the-top and open to everyone,” said organizer Malain McCormick.
Proceeds from the event will benefit United Way of Greater Nashville and the Imagination Library of Middle Tennessee. Funds raised will help expand access to books and literacy programs for children across the region.
Participants will also have the option to donate to the organizations during registration.
