Knoxville, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – Knoxville Police are investigating after a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle Sunday night in West Knoxville.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers responded to the 1400 block of Raillery Road near Papermill Drive, where they discovered the injured man inside his car. The victim was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment. Police said his condition was last reported as stable.
Investigators have not released information about a suspect, and it remains unclear whether any other individuals were involved in the shooting or were injured.
The case is being investigated by detectives with the KPD Homicide Unit. Authorities said the investigation is still in its early stages, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting have not yet been determined.
The incident was the second shooting reported in Knoxville on Sunday evening. Earlier in the night, police investigated a suspected road rage shooting near Tazewell Pike and Sanders Drive that also left one person hospitalized.
