Listen To Miranda Lambert’s Second Single, “We Should Be Friends,” From “The Weight of These Wings” Album

Listen To Miranda Lambert’s Second Single, “We Should Be Friends,” From “The Weight of These Wings” Album

Miranda Lambert has released the second single, “We Should Be Friends,” from her upcoming two-disc album, The Weight of These Wings, which drops Friday, Nov. 18.

“We Should Be Friends” was penned solely by Miranda and is featured as track No. 5 on disc one, The Nerve. The uptempo single—a follow up to the album’s first single, “Vice”—is about all the qualities Miranda, we assume, is looking for in a friend.

If you use alcohol as a sedative / And bless your heart as a negative / If you ride your white horse like the wind / If what you see is what you get / Well then, oh, we should be friends,” Miranda sings to close out the song.

Well Miranda, it sounds like we could should be friends.

Listen to Miranda’s list of conditions for friendship to see if you qualify.

Watch Little Big Town Get Silly Stringed on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon”

Watch Little Big Town Get Silly Stringed on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon”

Little Big Town—Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet—found themselves in a precarious situation as the visited Jimmy Fallon last night (Nov. 14) on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

The band was there to perform their new song, “Better Man,” but as most guests learn upon arrival, they are lured into some kind of made of game from the mind of Jimmy Fallon. The game they took part in was called Stranger Strings—a play on the Netflix original series Stranger Things. Leave it to Jimmy to find a way to incorporate silly string into a sketch.

The game is simple. The rules are as follows—as told by Jimmy Fallon in the video.

“Before the show we all wrote down a few facts about ourselves that no one else knows,”Jimmy began. “Those facts are on these cards. We also have these full cans of silly string. We will take turns reading a card, then we’ll count to three and everyone sprays silly string at the person they think wrote that card. Then we will reveal who actually wrote it. It’s like a getting to know you game.”

In this bit we got to learn a little more about one of our favorite bands. We learned the person who won a statewide modeling competition at 18 years old; who ditched the cops; who can count to 10 in Korean and who can do a mean Michael McDonald impression.

Watch as LBT gets caught up in a game of Stranger Things on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Holly Dunn Passes Away at Age 59

Holly Dunn Passes Away at Age 59

Nash Country Daily has learned this morning (Nov. 15) that singer/songwriter Holly Dunn has passed away at the age of 59.

According to wsmv.com, Holly passed away at a hospice facility in New Mexico, surrounded by family and friends.  The singer was battling a rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer for which she was diagnosed in March 2016.

Holly Dunn, born Aug 22, 1957, was best known in the 80’s for her Top 10 hit, “Daddy’s Hands” and No. 1 hit “You Really Had Me Going.” She released ten albums, including Cornerstone, The Blue Rose of Texas, Life and Love and All the Stages, and charted nineteen songs.

But as her career started to slow down, Holly retired from music in 2003 to pursue another passion—painting. Following her diagnosis Holly found peace with her prognosis.

“Back in March of this year, I was diagnosed with a rare, very aggressive form of ovarian cancer,” Holly said in a statement. “If you read the statistics, it is very bleak. Good thing I don’t believe in statistics! I had surgery and now I am having chemo treatments. I have since grown more tumors and it is going to be more of a battle than I anticipated, but I have a huge faith in the healing power of God and the healing power within me that originates from my God. I look towards a future when I am completely healed and cancer free. I ask for prayers of strength and courage as this journey continues.

“My faith is my rock. But I also draw tremendous strength from my family and my family of friends who have gathered around me in total support,” she continued. “Being a Christian, I know that no matter how this chapter ends, I will be OK. Either upright walking on this earth or safe in my Savior’s arms.”

Holly Dunn passed away Nov. 15, 2016, at the age of 59.

Nash Country Daily offers their condolences to Holly’s family and friends at this time. May she Rest In Peace.

Watch Runaway June’s Carefree Video for “Lipstick” Starring “Bachelorette” favorite Luke Pell

Newcomers Runaway June —Naomi Cooke, Hannah Mulholland and Jennifer Wayne—have been making a splash in country music with their current single, “Lipstick.” Now the girls have drawn attention to themselves with the release of their footloose and fancy-free new video for the single.

The video, directed by Peter Zavidil, finds The Bachelorette alum, Luke Pell—Season 12 with JoJo Fletcher —as the male lead and at the center of the ladies attention.

“We wanted something carefree, about having fun with no worries and finding someone who makes you happy,” Runaway June tells People. “That Thelma & Louise vibe fit in with it, and Luke was more than perfect for that. He’s not really a love interest, per se, but more of a drifter we pick up and go on an epic adventure with.”

The trio has been front and center lately appearing at the recent 50th Annual CMA Awards as Carrie Underwood’s background vocal group and being named 2017 CMT Next Women of Country. “Lipstick” is currently in the Top 40 of the Mediabase Country Airplay chart, making the ladies the first female trio in 10 years to earn a Top 40 hit.

Check out their new video for “Lipstick.”
