ALCOA, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – One person is dead following a crash on Pellissippi Parkway in Alcoa Thursday morning, according to city officials.
It happened around 11 a.m. Officials said Alcoa Police Department, Alcoa Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to reports of a crash on westbound Pellissippi Parkway near Alcoa Highway.
According to officials, when first responders got to the scene, they determined there was only one vehicle involved. The driver, a man from Maryville, died at the scene. His name is being withheld pending family notification.
The APD Crash Reconstruction Team and the Criminal Investigative Section are investigating the crash.
