Tenille Arts Drops Her New Song with Matt Stell, and Big News About an October Surprise!

Tenille Arts Drops Her New Song with Matt Stell, and Big News About an October Surprise!

Earlier this week Tenille Arts teased on social media that “There’s a lot happening this week” – and she wasn’t kidding.

Perhaps fans first thought she was referencing that the music video for “Back Then, Right Now” was recently released, or that the song is starting to move up the country music chart, or that she had more shows coming up with Lady A on their What A Song Can Do tour.

Or maybe it was the release of her new song with Matt Stell, “Over You Is You.”

Well, it turns out that it was all of that – and more!

Tenille shared with fans, “It’s official…my third album is coming!!!”

Tenille dished on some of the album’s details, “Girl to Girl will be here on October 22nd. These 13 songs were written as letters to my current and younger self… and now they’ll be for you too.”

Along with her current single, Tenille’s song with Matt Stell is one of the new tracks fans can look forward to…

With all the things happening in her career right now, Tenille says that making the sacrifice of being so far way from her hometown in Canada, and her family and friends to try and achieve her Music City dream is all worth it, “These were the things that we were hoping would happen and I am very well aware that it doesn’t happen for everybody. So, driving into town you know you just hope that you’re one of those people that gets to that point and spending all this time away from my parents, and my grandparents, and my family, my friends it’s like if this stuff wasn’t happening right now I know that I would probably be questioning should I be here…should I be away from my family and all these people”

As Tenille’s career flourishes, her family and friends back in Canada send all the love and support they can, and while Tenille wishes the hugs were real instead of virtual, she loves knowing that she has people that will love and support her each and every step of the way…no matter what happens., “They’re just all so excited and so happy and just thinking that all the stuff is so worth it you know all of this being away from each other…it’s worth it. So when they text me and they’re so excited and they’re celebrating it’s just…it feels like a big warm hug…I know I can’t hug them in person right now but it’s just like, it feels like all of his stuff is worth it and they’re so proud and so excited.”

Everyone is sure now to be really excited with the Girl To Girl album announcement — from her upcoming third project, this is the music video for Tenille Arts’ “Back Then, Right Now.”

Jimmy’s blog: Heupel to meet Friday with Maurer about future

Jimmy’s blog: Heupel to meet Friday with Maurer about future

By Jimmy Hyams

Tennessee quarterback Brian Maurer didn’t practice Wednesday and didn’t scrimmage Thursday morning after tweeting Tuesday night that “they took my dream away after four days.’’

But coach Josh Heupel on Thursday left open the door for a return.

“We had an initial conversation with him a few days ago as far as reps and how those things were going to be divided up,’’ Heupel said. “No further update on him. We’ll have a conversation with him during the off day (Friday).’’

Asked directly if Maurer is no longer on the team, Heupel said: “I told you I’d give you guys an update after the off day.’’

Maurer, apparently, was upset with what Heupel said regarding practice reps.

Meanwhile, Heupel said Michigan transfer Joe Milton did well during his first scrimmage as a Vol. He joined the team after spring practice.

“I thought he managed things well inside the pocket,’’ Heupel said.

But he also liked much of what he saw from the other quarterbacks: Hendon Hooker and Harrison Bailey.

“I thought all of them did a great job taking care of the ball and were efficient in calling it, for the most part,’’ Heupel said.

He also said the quarterbacks’ decision-making on the run game and pass game was “pretty solid.’’

But, he said, “We didn’t string things together the way we want to or need to.’’

Heupel had high praise for the defense.

“I thought the defensive side of the football was extremely physical, changed and disrupted the offensive front,’’ Heupel said. “Played on the other side of the line of scrimmage and tackled extremely well. You didn’t see many missed tackles during the course of play.’’

That’s extremely encouraging for a unit that many feel will struggle to contain the top offenses in the SEC. The defense was also ravaged by players transferring, leaving little depth.

The Vols do have some talented players on defense, led by pass rusher Byron Young and Tyler Baron, tackles Matthew Butler and Aubrey Solomon, and defensive backs Alontae Taylor and Theo Jackson. That doesn’t include six that UT signed out of the transfer portal.

Heupel is pleased with the progress of the defense from the end of the spring to the first day in pads during summer camp.

“It’s a different group,’’ Heupel said. “It’s different on the practice field, the physicality, playing upfield, disrupting and changing the line of scrimmage. Consistency, work habits, the ability to learn and play for the guy next to them and do it right. The accountability in the room is completely different. That’s why it will be different on the field, too.’’

Heupel said a huge percentage of the offensive and defensive systems have been installed, but he said that is an ever-growing process.

“As you go through the course of a season,’’ he said, “you will continue to grow and evolve and find ways to attack people on the other side of the line of scrimmage as you game plan. There’s no set playbook (as in) this is all we do and only what we do. You’ve got to continue to evolve as the game changes, as your opponent changes and as you find out more about your personnel.’’

Heupel said Darnell Wright has done well at left tackle.

“I think Darnell is really natural on the left side,’’ Heupel said. “He’s athletic. He has the ability to bend. Has a chance to be an elite pass protector.’’

Heupel said he feels good about Wright and right tackle Cade Mays.

Heupel also said offensive lineman K’Rojhn Calbert, who suffered a torn bicep in practice last week, has had surgery and will be out an extended period of time.

Thomas Rhett Doesn’t Know If He’ll Sing One of His Songs in Concert

Thomas Rhett Doesn’t Know If He’ll Sing One of His Songs in Concert

Thomas Rhett kicks off The Center Point Road tour this weekend with back-to-back shows at The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach Alabama on Friday and Saturday.

Thomas is super excited to be heading back to the stage, and can’t wait to play the music off of his Country Again: Side A album for the fans – like his number-one hit “What’s Your Country Song?”

But there’s actually one song that the crowds at Thomas’ shows might not get to hear.

On an album filled with deeply personal songs for him, “Heaven Right Now” is even more so.

Thomas co-wrote the track about a very close friend of his and his wife Lauren, named Hunter, that sadly passed away nearly a decade ago.

But even to this day Thomas thinks about his friend all the time, “Yeah, I wear this bracelet…I’ve had this bracelet on for about 8 years now it’s got his initials on it so…and I’m reminded of him every single day and he was like a brother to my wife and one of the most amazing humans in the world and one of those people that every time you walked into a room…it didn’t matter if you were having the worst day in the world he made you smile and I think that is such an amazing quality to somebody can have it just to bring light into a room that maybe a little bit dark. So as we started writing this song I was like I can’t ride this not about him you know he’s the closest person to me that I’ve ever had passed away.”

With the emotional punch that the lyrics have on Thomas – and anyone else who listens to the song and relates it to their own life – he can’t imagine where he’d sing it in his show, “Yeah, I’m even debating whether I’m actually going to play it. It’s just one of those songs that’s like, do you play it first? No. Do you play in the middle? Probably not. Do you end the show with it? Absolutely not.”

Thomas Rhett’s Country Again: Side A includes the title track which is a Top-10 – and climbing – hit song…

Carly Pearce Remembers Awkwardly Meeting Trisha Yearwood for the First Time

Carly Pearce Remembers Awkwardly Meeting Trisha Yearwood for the First Time

Carly Pearce is still flying high off of her induction into the Grand Ole Opry last week.

She was welcomed into the Opry family by Trisha Yearwood

Trisha probably enjoyed the greeting Carly gave her on that night last week as compared to the first time the two met backstage at the Grand Ole Opry a few years ago. Carly says, “On my second performance on the Opry we heard that there was a surprise guest, and we didn’t know who that was. And I’m standing with two of my band members, and we heard a knock on my door. We turned, and it was Garth Brooks. And he goes, ‘Hey, I’m Garth. Can I come in?’ I was like, ‘Yes.’ And then in walks Trisha, and I screamed in her face. And I don’t know if she remembers that, but she probably does. She was probably scared.”

Carly is not wasting any time on making her next appearance on the Opry stage – her first as an official member – this upcoming Tuesday, August 17th, will see her return.

Carly will surely be playing her current single at country radio, “Next Girl” – which is one of the tracks on her newly announced album, 29: Written In Stone -arriving September 17th

Check out the music video for “Next Girl” here…
